Wye Valley Brewery

Discover Wye Valley Ales – A Local Legend

Wye Valley Ales needs little introduction around here – they’re a well-known name just a mere 25 minutes from The Yew Tree Inn, and their exceptional range of beers brings the best of local brewing right to your doorstep.

At The Yew Tree Inn, we’re proud to have Wye Valley Ales on tap, featuring their flagship Butty Bach and the beloved Lager 1985—a fitting nod to the year this family-run brewery first began its journey.

Butty Bach: Your Little Friend in a Glass
Butty Bach is a Welsh term meaning “little friend” – and this charmingly smooth premium ale has certainly made more than a few friendships in its time. Brewed using Maris Otter and Crystal malts, along with locally grown Fuggles, Goldings, and Bramling Cross hops, Butty Bach is more than just a drink; it’s a storyteller. Over the years, every pint poured has witnessed laughter shared at local gatherings, spirited debates, and quiet moments of reflection. With such fine ingredients and a rich brewing tradition, it’s no wonder this delightful ale remains a firm favourite among our community.

A Journey Rooted in Tradition and Community
Founded by Peter Amor in 1985, Wye Valley Brewery has grown into an icon of the West Midlands. From its humble beginnings, this family-run establishment has embraced the art of traditional brewing, dedicated to crafting real ales for real pubs and real people. Each beer tells a story—a journey of passion, perseverance, and a commitment to quality that has resonated with generations of locals. The legacy of Wye Valley Ales is not just in its taste, but in its ability to bring people together, creating bonds over shared experiences and memorable moments.

Experience the Story with Every Sip
At The Yew Tree Inn, we’re more than just a venue for great beer; we’re a place where stories are shared, friendships are forged, and community spirit is celebrated. Whether you’re enjoying a pint of Butty Bach with old friends or discovering Lager 1985 for the first time, you’re part of a story that spans decades—a story of local pride, tradition, and the simple joy of a well-crafted beer.

Come on in, grab a pint, and experience the authentic taste and warm hospitality that only Wye Valley Ales can deliver. Cheers to great beer, lasting memories, and the journey ahead!
